“Helping families provide missing pieces”

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information Bulletin

‘Social Distancing’ , ‘Self-Quarantine’ and ‘Isolation’, which weeks ago were really on no one’s radar, are now part of our daily lives. It is disorienting and a dramatic departure from normal to abnormal for all of us. Our intention as your mental health/substance use disorder agency is to connect with you, in the only way we’re able, that is to express how important each of you are to us and to be available to you during this trying time.

The disruption of life as we know it, is perhaps the most difficult for us all. Not able to visit love ones in the hospitals, nursing homes, and not able to get out in social gathers to connect with one another.  Also, it is difficult especial those having children at home, no playdates, limited socializing, more dramatically, tens of thousands of individual now facing unemployment.  We as mental health/substance use licensed professional therapist are here to encourage you through this unchartered and challenging times.

What Is Social Distancing?

Social distancing is a way to keep people from interacting closely or frequently enough to spread an infectious disease. Schools and other gathering places such as movie theaters may close, and sports events and religious services may be cancelled.

What Is Quarantine?

Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who have been exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. It lasts long enough to ensure the person has not contracted an infectious disease.

What Is Isolation?

Isolation prevents the spread of an infectious disease by separating people who are sick from those who are not.It lasts as long as the disease is contagious.

We are now offering tele-therapy via VSEE (a HIPAA compliant: North Carolina State Approved Video Telehealth System) and telephone services, so that we as therapists will be able to connect with you and you with us.  Please feel free to contact our office: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at (919) 938-9502 to schedule an appointment.
